OC Science Nominated MfS's Volunteer of December
Congratulations Emily Zhang for being selected as MfS Volunteer of the Month!

Emily, a freshman at University High School, began volunteering this year at STEAM in the Park and found a genuine passion for service. Zhang described her experience as, "The best way I could have spent my Saturday."

Since then, she has become a regular volunteer of OC Science, often helping out in slime activities and fun nights. She thoroughly embodies what it means to be an excellent volunteer: on task, positive, and reliable.

"What I love most about volunteering," Zhang said, "is that I am able to share a passion to serve the community."

Thank you so much for being such a dedicated, hardworking volunteer, Emily!

OC Math Circle Nominated MfS's Volunteer of January
Congratulations Angela Choi for being selected as MfS volunteer of the month!
Angela, a freshman at Oxford Academy, contributes as a Santa Ana Math Club lead teacher as well as a member of the Problem Writing Committee.
She is a very diligent teacher who interacts well with her students. As an OCMC problem writer, her problems are both thoughtful and interesting. Angela also made significant contribution writing problems for the Thanksgiving and New Year Invitational Tournaments. She is always eager for new opportunities. As an example, she was always one of the first few to response when the Problem Writing Committee needed more Countdown problems for its recent tournaments.
We would like to thank Angela for being a consistent, dedicated, and hardworking volunteer. Congratulations!

OC Math Circle Nominated MfS's Volunteer of February
Congratulations to Nathan Song, a freshman at Diamond Bar High School, for his award as Math for Service Volunteer of the Month!

Nathan was recognized by the directors of Middle School Math Club for his hard work, positive attitude, and steadfast commitment to the club. Nathan always comes prepared to teach, and his delivery is clear and thorough. He interacts well with the students and his peers. MSMC Directors Nyle Wong and Neal Sharma are impressed by Nathan's focus and dedication to the club.

So what motivates Nathan to volunteer? He once competed at the OCMC Thanksgiving Tournament as a 7th grader. "I was really impressed by the level of organization done by the students," Nathan said. "The best part of volunteering with OCMC is that I have a lot of peers that share my interests in math and science, and that all of the members of OCMC are top-notch students and people." Nathan plans to continue volunteering and becoming more active in OCMC in the future.

Thank you, Nathan, for your hard work and commitment!
